At Tails & Trails, we take the safety and security of your animals (and ours) very seriously!  Their health and wellbeing is of utmost importance. When at your homes or up at  day camp, your dog will most likely be around other dogs and 

people, the following are safety precautions to protect your pets and others.

 

Safety Rules for At Your Home Training and Day Camp:

  • Must be well socialized with other dogs and people including children unless training with Tails & Trails

  • Must be up to date and provide records for the following vaccines:

    • Rabies

    • Corona

    • DHLLP

    • Influenza 

    • Bordatella

  • Must be on a preventative for fleas, ticks and heartworm one month prior and must be  free of worms

  • Must be able to ride in a vehicle in or out of a kennel if traveling with Tails & Trails 

  • Must be able to walk on a leash for daily hikes unless they are off leash trained or they  are in training with Tails & Trails, 

  • In the event of an emergency, Tails & Trails will notify the owner immediately and take your pet to the closest Emergency Animal Clinic. Owner will be responsible for all vet bills incurred at the emergency clinic.

Severe or Extreme Weather

During severe weather, we will make every effort to balance performing services with the general safety and well being of your pets. Should a service need to be shortened due to severe weather, we will note this and makeup the time at a later date. 

Severe weather includes: 

  • Thunderstorms

  • Heavy Rain 

  • Temperatures over 90 degrees or under 20 degrees

  • Same-day cancellations due to extreme weather conditions may be made at no fee. Tails & Trails will make every effort to follow the requests of the local and state authorities. 
     

Extreme weather includes: 

  • Snowstorms causing school cancellations 

  • Severe flooding 

  • Any weather causing state of emergency

 

For long-term home care, we highly recommend using a neighbor as an emergency contact.
